Characters: Tenth Doctor
Summary: He did not love as humans loved. By their standards, he wasn't even capable of it.
This short piece follows "Human Nature/Family of Blood": what the Doctor tries to do for Joan, and some musings about former companions. But it's the last line that's the kicker.

Summary: "Why was it up to me to end the invasion of the Bane, Captain Torchwood?"
This was recced on Calufrax, so I was expecting something good; some snark, some banter, some fun. It was actually better than I expected: all that plus a poignant flashback to the Year That Wasn't, angst, misunderstandings, and Sarah Jane pwning Jack, like good.
