Summary: "What was silent in the father speaks in the son, and often I found in the son the unveiled secret of the father."

Summary: Vulcans do not grieve as humans would. Nor do they rebuild as humans would.

This story intersperses scenes on the Enterprise with looks at the new Vulcan homeworld. On the Enterprise, Kirk is concerned for Spock and deals with it in the way that Kirk would. And the other scenes capture the deepness and subtlety of the Vulcan people in a very evocative way. A really really good story, this is.
