A short piece exploring an interesting possibility of something else Jim might detect with his senses. (This story is referred back to in The Inquisitor)

(3) "Subtle Shifts" (Sentinel/Highlander)

More of a bridging piece between The Inquisitor and Quietly Into The Night, rather than being stand-alone. Good though. Enter Methos... and another immortal.

(4) "Quietly Into The Night" (Sentinel/X-Files/Highlander)

Sequel to Subtle Shifts. Of course, now it is inconsistent with X-Files canon, but it did a nice job of wrapping it all up anyway. I'm not so sure about the thing with Lee Brackett though, and some of the other little things (about who shares the bed of whom) I could have done without, but that's just a quibble. The Samantha thing, I found a bit hard to believe. But I liked the connections that were made between the Sentinel mythos and the Highlander mythos, and the extension of the Sentinel-Guide relationship. Cool.

Addendum: I think The Inquisitor is still the best one in this series, though.
