We all know that the Buffyverse has had some strange things happen in it. We also know that the Men In Black universe has had some wierd things taken completely in their stride and not blinked at. Combine the two and you get wierder than wierd. In a fun, completely deadpan way. Apart from the world being a bit threatened, of course.
One realizes fairly early, of course, that this is an Alternative Universe story; one just doesn't know how alternative until later. I liked it -- but if you have trouble with nutty premises, then you might stumble over a number of unlikelihoods. Me, I just went along for the ride. Oh, and some bits were a bit... twee? But it was still fun.
Both guys were putting on dark glasses, the white guy was raising a pen-shaped device. It flashed brilliant white; simultaneously Willow's eyes blackened. The white guy said "My colleague showed you DEA identification, and you're going to invite us in."
Willow said "Don't know what that flashy thing was, mister, but if you don't get off the damn doorstep I'm calling the police. Buffy!"
"That's it," said the black guy, "I want to see your papers now. No way you're human."

This is a very short crossover, you don't need to know much, basically just who the characters are.
This is nicely evocative and understated.

Dawn, the Key, steps into a new universe, but all is not as it seems. Intriguing.
